Health & Safety Policy Statement

Ground Scan NZ is committed to the protection and preservation of a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. It is our intent to be a responsible business committed to continual improvement in health and safety management systems and performance in all business activities. This includes maintaining strict compliance with relevant health and safety laws and regulations. 

IT IS OUR POLICY TO:

  • Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment, safe systems and methods of work and to protect workers and others in so far as they come into contact with foreseeable work hazards. 

  • Take reasonably practicable steps to ensure that all activities are carried out safely and without causing harm to workers, customers or the general public. 

  • Provide adequate resources to manage health and safety.

  • Ensure officers undertake their due diligence role. 

  • Undertake robust risk management for all identified hazards or hazardous situations. We will always strive to eliminate all situations which could lead to injury and/or occupational illness. In the event that any hazardous situation cannot be eliminated we will minimise it. 

  • Encourage full worker participation and consultation on health and safety matters. 

  • Define all individuals’ responsibility for health and safety matters. 

  • Encourage and recognize employee initiative, as we believe it is important that all employees and sub-contractors take the initiative in anticipating, preventing and correcting conditions and practices that could lead to physical harm to themselves or to any other person or persons. 

  • Require prompt and accurate reporting of all accidents or incidents immediately to their supervisor. 

  • Provide all employees with the information, training and supervision that they need to work safely and efficiently and to develop safety awareness among employees. 

  • Ensure an adequate level of supervision of all activities in the workplace. 

  • Support the safe and early return to work of any injured employee.
