SERVICE DETAILS
Using the latest Radio Detection equipment, our operators will carry out a general sweep of the project site to ascertain if there are any live cables underground. These lines are then marked out on the surface.
For conductive utility lines and those that have a tracer wire (eg. power, fibre, gas or telecoms), we introduce an electrical current to the line in order to create a magnetic field around it. It is this magnetic field that we use to pin-point the location and depth of the line itself. These lines are then marked on the surface.
For non-conductive utilities that are not typically buried with a tracer wire (eg. water lines), we utilize either GPR of the very latest in Acoustic Pulse Technology. This special unit emits a sonic vibration into the ground that travels along the utility line, allowing us to pinpoint and mark out its exact location and depth.
Using the latest GPS technology, we can provide our clients with full GIS or GoogleMaps based imaging of their project site, detailing precise locations of all underground assets and structures, delivered in a fully interactive format.

Using our advanced Ground Penetrating Radar technology we then scan the entire project site, or a specific part of it, to produce a detailed picture of the subsurface.
Having already located and identified the utilities present, we then use this information to interpret the data collected by the GPR in order to produce a three-dimensional image of the project subsurface.

When it is critical to provide absolute certainty, and where it is physically possible, our team can carry out micro-excavation of small sections of utilities in order to provide physical proof of location. See our Hydro-Excavation page for more details.
Depending on the specific needs of each client, our project deliverables range from simple onsite, above-ground markings, to full-site, GPS-aided, 3D Subsurface Mapping.
Unless otherwise agreed, deliverables are made available, via a dedicated and secure shared drive, by 9am the morning after the job was undertaken.
